Dov Moran Speaks at Launch of DTec Skills Lab, Israel’s First Druze Tech Empowerment Center
Earlier this week, Grove Ventures’ Managing Partner Dov Moran participated in the launch event of DTec Skills Lab, the first high-tech empowerment center dedicated to Israel’s Druze community. The center, developed in collaboration with Bynet Data Communications, aims to open new opportunities for underrepresented groups in Israel’s innovation economy.
Championing Inclusion in High-Tech
In his remarks, Dov spoke about the importance of diverse participation in Israel’s tech ecosystem, while reflecting on how inclusion can strengthen innovation, society, and national resilience. He shared lessons learned as a founder and investor, encouraging aspiring entrepreneurs to embrace both successes and setbacks as part of the journey.
Drawing from his experience founding M-Systems, the company behind the USB flash drive, Dov recounted a defining moment in his career: the company’s celebrated acquisition by SanDisk. “While the sale to SanDisk was celebrated as a massive success for Israeli high-tech, for me, it felt like selling my baby, as something truly precious that I built from scratch. Success and failure depend greatly on the eye of the beholder,” he reflected.
A Milestone for the Druze Community
DTec Skills Lab represents a milestone for the Druze community, offering a platform to train, mentor, and inspire the next generation of high-tech leaders. What is more, the launch event brought together industry veterans, community leaders, and young talent, all focused on bridging gaps and building a more inclusive innovation landscape.
At Grove Ventures, we are proud to support and celebrate initiatives like DTec that make Israel’s tech sector more open, diverse, and impactful.
